Responsibilities:
· DFM Study and Evaluation by conducting in-depth DFM studies on customer drawings and technical documents to identify potential design and manufacturing issues.
· Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to make necessary design improvements for efficient and cost-effective manufacturing.
· Evaluate the availability of the manufacturing resources and capabilities (Malaysia and China) to meet production demands.
· Identify resources/areas for improvement or upgrading on capabilities when required.
· Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to resolve production-related issues and implement corrective actions.
• Perform comprehensive cost analysis studies and reviews to optimize tooling expenses while maintaining quality and performance.
• Utilize 3D CAD software, preferably Creo Parametric or UG or NX tools, to create, modify, and optimize tooling designs.
· Propose innovative process flows that enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and ensure cost-effectiveness.
· Liaise with the production teams in Malaysia and China to facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices.
· Regular reporting to Superior on any progress, challenges, and recommendations.
Qualifications:
· Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
· Above 8 years’ experience in tooling engineering with a strong background in rubber and plastic component parts manufacturing.
· Proficiency in 3D CAD software, specifically Creo Parametric / UG / NX tools.
· Extensive experience as a mold maker in the rubber and plastic manufacturing industry.
· Knowledge and experience in conducting cost-effective mold tooling reviews and studies.
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Effective communication and collaboration skills in cross-cultural settings.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
