Job Responsibilities of Electrical and Instrument Engineer:

• Review project specs to ensure equipment design meets contract requirements.
• Prepare, review, and approve instrumentation and electrical deliverables (e.g., lists, data sheets, diagrams, schedules).
• Create material requisitions and perform technical bid evaluations for electrical and instrumentation equipment (e.g., transformers, MCCs, flowmeters, control valves).
• Develop engineering standards and procedures for design and production.
• Monitor project costs, timelines, and compliance with technical specifications.
• Attend technical and HAZOP review meetings to address client feedback.
• Support plant start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, and manual preparation.
• Provide technical support to sales, engineers, and project managers.
• Self-manage daily engineering tasks while adhering to health and safety protocols.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline
• 5 years’ E&I experience in water treatment industry

About the team

The App Ads and Gaming team empowers TikTok's global monetization (billion-dollar business) via efficiently delivering application ads on TikTok. Our mission is to push the boundaries of large-scale ads delivery systems and lead the innovations of TikTok's personalized online advertising. Hence, you'll have a chance to get deeply involved in our large-scale distributed systems and state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms. As a Machine Learning Engineer on the App Ads & Gaming team, you will make efforts to develop novel machine learning solutions for ranking, build scalable foundations and launch various products that maximize the efficiency of deep funnel app ads delivery.

Responsibilities

1. Work on the development of a large-scale App Ads delivery system and improve its accuracy;

2. Explore multi-stage ranking models, conduct data analysis, develop feature engineering;

3. Participate in the innovations of core App Ads systems using machine learning models, ranking algorithms, etc;

4. Partner with product managers, data scientists and product strategy & operation team to launch new App Ads products and features.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

1. BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other relevant majors;

2. 3+ years of hands-on experience with applying machine learning methods for ranking;

3. 3+ years of software development experience and strong coding skills, especially in Python/C++;

4. Experience with recommender system projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with Tensorflow/PyTorch/MXNet is a plus;

2. Familiarity with online experimentation methods and analytics. Essential knowledge and skills in statistics;
