Primary Responsibilities (2 vessels)

· Technical management of the assigned Multipurpose Heavy Lift vessels including drydocking.

· Methodical and systematic review of Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Reports to ensure proper technical running of vessels and identification of risks.

· Management of ‘Defect Lists’ aligned with ‘Requisition Trackers’ to have full control on vessel’s condition (Deck & Engine) including raising of new defects and closure of existing defects.

· Management of Inventory Management System (IMS) with Purchase department as a running system always updated for supply & consumption of relevant items ensuring all unusable spares / stores / deck materials are discarded/ disposed in line with disposal regulations keeping vessels clean of unusable items.

· Full management of Planned Maintenance System (PMS) with vessels to have full control on vessel’s condition (Deck and Engine), checking authenticity of tasks completed and adherence to PMS schedules.

· Management of shore-based requirements in accordance with ‘Defect Lists’ and to maintain a record of all Shore Service Reports for services carried out on vessels.

· Carry out sailing visits / vessel inspections to ensure accuracy of Defect List and raising new defects, quality of closed defects, IMS, PMS, Accommodation upkeep, HSE and SMS. Identify competency of engineers and officers during the visits. Prepare Inspection reports capturing the status of the vessel after the visit.

· Carry out technical interviews / evaluations for all engineers in the fleet ensuring the right quality and experience. Carry out briefings for sea staff visiting the office to ensure their familiarity with the company procedures, ongoing initiatives, and accidents / learnings from the fleet. Carry out sea staff evaluations during all interactions with the vessel and feedback to crewing department.

· Liaise with Class for arranging annual and periodical surveys.

· Liaise with makers as required on troubleshooting technical problems & advising vessels accordingly.

· Liaise with HSE / Crewing / Accounts Department for smooth operation of vessels.

Requirements

· Shore experience as Technical Superintendent minimum 3 years with extensive experience in working with 4 stroke Engines. All vessels have 4 stroke Main Engines and hence extensive experience of working with 4 stroke Main Engines is essential.

· Experience with heavy lift vessels preferable.

· Sailing experience as Chief Engineer of minimum 3 years on board foreign going vessels

· Diligent, self-starter, independent and result oriented individual with excellent oral and written communication skills

· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and general computer knowledge, attentive to detail.

We are looking for a dedicated and talented Technical Superintendent to join our highly skilled and motivated Fleet Technical Operations Team. Our Fleet Team is responsible for the technical management of all operated vessels, ensuring compliance with latest industry standards and demands.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to General Manager of Fleet Technical Operations, you will be responsible to ensure efficient and safe daily technical operations of a fleet of Pure Car Carrier vessels (PCC) and Container vessels.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage all technical matters and ensure that safety is regarded as a primary responsibility.
• Monitor inventory control of stores and spares, performance of vessels, compliance with all applicable health, safety, security and pollution prevention regulations, certification status of vessels and ensure that at all times vessels are maintained in seaworthy condition.
• Responsible for maintenance, repairs, planned maintenance and modifications to vessels’ hull and machineries.
• To prepare repair specifications and coordinate with various repair firms for effecting major repairs, if any, during, the voyage without incurring delay to vessel.
• Plan, coordinate and execute inspections, dry dockings, lay-up and sale of vessels (in coordination with principals after making cost comparisons with various shipyards and repairers in the most efficient manner.
• Frequent sailing for ships’ inspections is required. Able to work in local and overseas shipyards to supervise dry-docking and other services.
• Follow up closely on performance of all vessels, monitor major deficiencies/defects that exist in the vessels and ensure that timely corrective actions are taken in order that the vessels performance and safety is not jeopardized. Ensure that all Charter Party requirements are being fulfilled and identify reasons for deviation if any and take remedial measures.

Job Responsibilities

1. Supervises all technical aspects / performance of assigned vessels' operation including maintenance, repair, safety and environmental protection to ensure that these are carried out in a flawless, efficient, competitive and customer focused operation and according to the international and flag state legislation and to initiate corrective actions when such performance is not compliant with the Company's standards. Collects all necessary information in order to timely compile the dry-docking and major repair specification and participates in the planning and monitoring of major repairs and/or dry-docking repairs and services.

2. Drafts and controls fleet's technical annual budget (e.g., spares, stores, lubricants) in order to develop and implement competitive budgets and maintain the commercial competitiveness of the fleet.

3. Monitors the superintendent engineers' visits on the vessels in order to check and evaluate their condition and maintenance progress; to issue further instructions on maintenance and repair activities; to file, record and report findings to the Technical Director.

4. Reviews and evaluates quotations for all technical spares, supplies, repair services, lubricants, paints, and engine stores to be purchased and authorizes the purchase order depending on the costs.

5. Cooperates closely with the claims department for the process of damage claims and collect all necessary technical information in order to provide technical back-up in support of such claims.

6. Informs immediately the Technical Director in case of emergency.

7. Coordinates and liaises with other departments within the company to collectively provide an efficient ship management service. More specifically, assists the Insurance Dept. on collection of necessary documentation; interacts with the Purchasing Dept. for procurement cycle follow up, spares, supplies and services in coordination with the vessels; coordinates with MSQ Dept. and the DPAs to ensure that assigned vessel are in full compliance with company's SMS (:e.g., certificates, NCRs, documents etc.); works with Crew Dept. and contributes to the recruitment, training and appraisals of the seafarers employed by the company; and cooperates with other superintendents (i.e., marine) and/or fleet operators to safeguard fleet's and company's best interest and achieve optimum vessels' performance.

8. If needed, visit the managed vessels to assess their condition during PSC and/or attends dry-dock and repairs in order to monitor their progress and ensure their effective completion.

• Perform first level troubleshooting on all reported incidents and escalate incidents to 2nd level resolver groups as per work instructions
• Provide First Call Resolution (FCR) technical support
• Troubleshoot and investigate cause of user’s problem
• Update work information with all troubleshooting steps used in the ticketing system
