Job Description
To carry out full time on-site supervision of architectural, structural and MEP works under the Building Control Act and Regulations
Job Qualifications/Requirements
· Possession of a valid practicing certificate from ACES/IES for RTO or relevant Diploma in Building / National Construction Certificate of Supervision (NCCS) Certification
· Registered with Building Control Authority (BCA) and Joint Accreditation Committee of the Institution of Engineers Singapore and the Association of Consulting Engineers Singapore (“JAC(IES and ACES)”)
· Minimum experience of 3years local supervision as a resident technical officer for Civil and Structural works and must have experience in supervising Architectural, Civil & Structural, MEP and Landscape works within the last 5 years
· Relevant experience in basement construction, precast RC works, bored piling works and precast façade works
· Relevant experience in architectural building works, landscaping works, ID finishing and fit-out works and coordination, defects checking
· Be conversant in local legislation, regulations, and codes
· Competent in IT- word processing, excel, email, Power point for project progress update and presentation slides, maintaining proper record for claims
· Possession of the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) Certificate in Landscape Operations, or equivalent/higher qualification approved by HDB
Roles and Responsibilities
· Assist S.O, S.O.’s Representative, QP or Client Representative to attend to technical and design issues at site and report issues to S.O, S.O.’s Representative, QP or Client Representative
· Provide standing supervision as and when directed by the S.O, S.O.’s Representative, QP or Client Representative as stipulated in the Building Control Act
· Check through construction drawings and highlight any discrepancies found between or within the same disciplines prior to the commencement of installation works
· Ensure all works are carried out in accordance to approved drawings and specifications.
· Ensure adequate safety precautions are enforced on site
· Resolve all site issues and ensure timely completion of the project
· Attend site meetings, site inspections, testing and commissioning, trade demo, mockup review, any other meetings / inspections as instructed by the S.O, S.O.’s Representative, QP or Client Representative
· Maintain site records
· Checking of Design Drawings prior to Site Construction
· To act as a Site Supervisor appointed by the Qualified Person (QP) in accordance with the Building Control Act
· To supervise Contractors’ works and check that the required standard of materials, workmanship and quality control of all construction works are satisfactorily achieved in accordance with the specification and drawings in compliance with the relevant Building Regulation
· To report to the Project Development Team / Qualified Person (QP) and assist him in discharging all his duties
· As a Resident Technical Officer, you are to be directed by and shall report to the S.O, S.O.’s Representative, QP or Client Representative for all construction works. You shall also be responsible for all necessary liaison and coordination with the Contractor’s agents, other consultants, and relevant Authorities for the smooth execution of the works
· To submit Weekly Site Report covering but not limited to the following:
a. Weekly Manpower Record
b. Weekly progress report
c. Record of site memorandums
d. Site Records of Architectural/MEP/Landscape inspections and testing
e. Site progress photos
· Verify that the Contractor’s defects rectifications are completed satisfactorily, or to the satisfaction of the S.O, S.O.’s Representative, QP or Client Representative
· Monitor and track that the defects rectification meet the service standards set
· Attend joint inspections with users to better understand their requests/feedback where required
· Conduct audit checks on renovation hacking of walls based on the Client Representative’s approved plans to safeguard building structure
· Carry out and fulfil any other duties assigned by the S.O, S.O.’s Representative, QP or Client Representative
· Carry out the supervision of diversion works on site during the period of PUB water main/hydrant diversion works (if required) carried out by the Main Contractor / Specialist contractor
· Carry out supervision at precast plant (if applicable)
