The primary challenge of this position is to ensure the project is completed in a timely and cost effective manner to meet contractual arrangements made with the client. Responsibilities will focus on projects with bulk earth works and civil works.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

Safety

• Undertake all responsibilities in a safe manner.
• Ensure a safe working condition is present for all employees, contractors and visitors.
• Participate in daily pre-start meetings.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems such as job safety analysis, pre-work checklists and risk assessments.
• Comply and have input into safe working procedures.
• Report hazards, incidents and accidents within company guidelines.
• Assist with safety sections for reports, tenders and proposals.
• Actively participate in safety training.

Technical

• Manage interface between UGL Electrical/Structural Engineers and Civil design consultants
• Liaise with subcontractors to ensure job is constructed to the drawings, to the customer requirements
• Attend meetings with client taking a lead role on items like bulk earth works and civil works
• Liaise with Client on all technical aspects of the project
• Ensure that the survey of installations throughout the project is conducted in a professional manner with all results being reviewed and accepted as correct with actions coordinated and documented.
• Verification of all Subcontractor earth works and civil works quantities for progress claims
• Assist the Project Manager with compliance to the documentation required under the UGL Management System
• Review and plan the project with the Project Manager to ensure technical aspects of job are clear and to become familiar with contractual arrangements made with client
• Liaise with Construction Manager to ensure job is on schedule
• Provide a focal point for all technical based queries for associated subcontractors/suppliers.
• Provide engineering advice for subcontractors/suppliers
• Liaise with the Project Manager and the Project Planner regarding schedule issues and status of activities
• Prepares with the Quality Manager all Inspection and Test Plans and associated Project Specific Procedures
• Ensure that the quality requirements of the client are adhered to and that company procedures are followed
• Assist the Project Manager with all procurement and purchases of goods and services
• Assessment of risks and hazards involved in tasks, and methods to manage the hazards in order to prevent incidents, injury and damage
• Assist the Project Manager in preparation of monthly reports and also attends the monthly report meetings with Client
• Prepare and circulate the minutes of the monthly meeting with Client
• Responsibilities as per Work Health Safety Training Needs Analysis Matrix
• Propose creation and/or modification of HSSE documents within the management Ensure compliance with all record keeping requirements
• Undertake any adhoc projects, initiatives, tasks as directed by the Construction Manager

Policies and Procedure Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all UGL HSSE policies, procedures and relevant legislative requirements.
• Ensure compliance with UGL’s Fitness for Work Policy, including undertaking your own Drug & Alcohol responsibility of care and submitting to random testing as required.
• Ensure compliance with all emergency plans and procedures and ensuring they are displayed as appropriate within your area.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant Safety legislation.
• Ensure all work is compliant with UGL’s Quality Management Systems policies and procedures and ISO 9001:2008 requirements.
• All personnel are responsible for ensuring the quality of their work meets specified standards and requirements.
• Raise any non-conformances, with regard to product or process, with immediate manager or supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with all UGL & Group HR policies & procedures and legislation including Equal Employment Opportunity and Harassment Legislation.
• Ensure compliance with all IT policies & procedures in particular with regards to: appropriate access and use of systems/software, security of data and policies pertaining to viewing/ copying/ downloading of inappropriate, offensive or sexually explicit material.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil/ Structural/ Building)
• RPEQ certification desirable
• AS 9001 Quality Systems knowledge
• Minimum 5 Years’ Experience in project related disciplines
• Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast paced environment with multiple and competing demands
• Proficient skills in computers: MS Word, Excel, Access, email

Reporting to Senior Manager, Technical & Planning, this position will provide technical support for manufacturing process to ensure production complies strictly with Company’s quality & safety standards and environmental regulations. This role will also be in charge of performing investigation to identify root causes for plant troubles and implement countermeasures, and driving plant optimization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee plant performance, issue operating instructions, conduct root cause analysis, investigate process failures and recommend appropriate solutions or corrective actions
• Coordinate Safety Case activities and liaise with other departments to ensure completion of all follow up actions as well as to review and revise Safety Case reports
• Lead HAZOP studies and other process safety assessments
• Handle raw materials and utility consumption analysis and efficiency improvement drive, which include managing evaluation meetings, participating in contract discussion and negotiation with suppliers and following up on action plans and other operational tasks
• Plan and conduct trial production for new products or raw materials, and initiate optimization ideas for process and process safety improvements
• Perform technical and process safety studies and share knowledge with other team members
• Conduct training for Plant members and in-house contractors and review and improve existing training materials
• Coordinate Management of Change and support plant investment and infrastructure projects such as budget planning, monitoring project progression and scheduling project meetings
• Maintain and improve Integrated Management System such as reviewing and developing standard operating procedures and maintaining proper certification and documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline with working experience in chemical/polymer plant preferred
• Entry level candidates without experience can be considered
• Meticulous, self-driven, independent and resourceful
• Possess good analytical thinking and problem solving skills
• Effective team player with good communication and presentation skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Able to perform overtime work when required
• Willing to work on Jurong Island

• Carry out project management role for the installation of telecommuication 4G/5G equipment, access points to meet project deadline.
• Business Development scope for TSI/Telecoms Package projects .
• Support Telecoms Lead Engineer in all other Telecoms activities
• Wor on Telecoms systems studies such as PAGA coverage study, radio coverage study, VSAT link calculation, fibre optic link budget, etc
• Liaise with client to resolve Engineering comments and provide solution
• Coordinate with other disciplines and contractors on systems interfaces
• Interpret schematic diagrams and possess a strong understanding of basic electronics and RF telecommunications.
