ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

• We are looking for a logistics planning manager in logistics planning department which is responsible for logistics analysis and planning solutions by using advanced IT technology and also carry out research and development of state-of-the-art technology for logistics services.
• In the warehouse non clerical work and clerical work of logistics division, there are still a lot of cases where business processes have not been improved for more than 10 years like a paper-based work instructions and non-standardized business processes. Our mission is to improve them dramatically by introducing advanced IT technology for future.
• Logistics planning department suggests solutions to the warehouse operation team based on the result of scientific analysis by using BI tools or special analytics tools. And Logistics planning department supports implementation the best solution with or without material handling equipment based on the customer’s requirements operational requirements.
• Achievement on the job in logistics planning department will be evaluated based on the amount of reduction costs or the amount of incrementation of revenue by new initiatives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Bachelor's Degree

Technical Skills and Prior Experience

• At least 10 years supervisory experience for warehouse operation in Logistics company.
• Have sufficient knowledge and experience in logistics business and operations.
• Must be IT proficient and able to thrive in a fast pace setting. Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Word.
• Project management experiences and skills are required since the logistics planning department plans a project schedule considering with the priority, importance, deadline and man-hour required for whole project period. And also, the team is required to execute several projects simultaneously with colleagues of Nippon Express group.
• Has a deep understanding of the Japanese target market and company culture.
• Ability to work effectively with our Japanese partners, respecting and understanding their work ethics and business customs.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate regional projects of International Freight Forwarding (IFF) including implementation, new product launch and development campaign.
• Ensure timely execution of monthly production processing for your assigned locations.
• Execute stringent pre/post month-end checks to continuously improve data quality.
• Improving processes by recommending operational changes.
• Maintain a high standard of data integrity.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis and Procedures to continuously improve import/ export activities to deliver better results in customers satisfaction and expectation as well as company bottom lines.
• Perform/ prepare a diverse range of business analysis tasks aimed at driving business growth for IFF business in SEA.
• Provide support regarding management data, processes and systems to business partners, Operations, SEA countries and HQ.
• Provide support in administrative matters and ad-hoc tasks assigned by HOD from time to time.
• Simplify and enhance the current processes to improve efficiency, reduce manual work and decrease risks.
• Support Business Controller and Regional Director on any tasks or projects handling requirements.
• Work closely with cross departments to understand their data needs and devise relevant solutions.
• Work closely with IT to ensure any issues are prioritised and any impact to data is minimised.

Requirements

• Minimum diploma in logistics or supply chain management
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in similar industry
• Possess Team Management Experience is an added advantage
• Proficiency in preparing, analysing budgets/ forecast/ actual financial and non-financial reports
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Words, Excel, Power Point)
• Affinity to excel under pressure and possess a positive can-do attitude
• Analytical and details oriented
• Collaborate with team to optimize processes
• Follow up in a timely manner
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to adapt to the changing needs of the organization and demands of internal and external stakeholders

Our client is a global MNC, one of the most established pioneers in the Chemical industry. Due to business needs, they are now recruiting a Logistics Manager to be part of their Logistics Team for ongoing transformation projects. They are located in the West - easily accessible.

Duties of Logistics Manager:

• Lead and supervise logistics team members.
• Manage delivery contractors for timely deliveries
• Plan and optimize warehouse space
• Implement FIFO and Lot Number picking methods
• Assist in inventory planning and analysis
• Conduct cycle stock counts and manage adjustments
• Coordinate between departments efficiently
• Process and analyze monthly reports
• Manage logistics-related correspondences
• Ensure staff adherence to safety standards
• Continuously improve work processes for efficiency
• Perform other assigned duties as needed

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in related field
• At least 5 years of relevant experience
