Kosmode Health operates in two dynamic business verticals:

  • Plant Extraction & Functional Food Vertical: We serve the Agri-food Industry by utilizing our core plant extraction expertise to reclaim proteins and fiber from Food Processing Wastes or Spent Grains. Our commitment to innovation is evident in the creation of a range of protein and fiber functional food prototypes, including the world-renowned W0W® Noodles, clinically validated for its 0 Glycemic Response.   • 3D Bioprinting Vertical: Catering to the 3D cell culture segment in the Biomedical Industry, we've leveraged our plant protein isolates to formulate Plant Protein Composite (PPC®) bio-ink. This bio-ink is a key component in our groundbreaking 3D PPC® scaffold, offering unprecedented possibilities for 3D cell and tissue culture.

JOB SCOPE

  • The role of Food Technologist cum Engineer at Kosmode Health is a dynamic opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation in plant extraction, food processing, and functional food development. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in optimising processes, driving product development, and contributing to our mission of turning Food Processing Waste into valuable resources that elevate food to the status of medicine.

SPECIFIC ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Plant Extraction

  • Constantly explore and identify bioactives such as polyphenols, proteins, and fibres from botanicals and manufacturing side-streams for inclusion in our innovation pipeline.
  • Undertake bioactive extraction, creating new valorisation methodologies using existing and new equipment.
  • Optimise extraction processes for increased production throughput and output through continuous process improvements and equipment optimisation.
  • Address and troubleshoot technical challenges in our Pilot Extraction Plant.
  • Develop and execute test plans for lab and pilot scale trials.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring compliance with all technical and operational SOPs.
  • Create and maintain raw material, product specifications, and process flow documentation for extraction.

Product Development & Application

  • Explore and develop various functional food applications.
  • Lead end-to-end functional product development, from concept and trials to commercialisation.
  • Prepare product prototypes for promotion, exhibition, and marketing purposes.
  • Investigate different applications of Kosmode Health's functional ingredients across various product categories based on customer requests.
  • Document project formulas and testing results.
  • Conduct analysis, characterisation, and identification of botanical extracts.
  • Source equipment and identify appropriate co-manufacturers for new and existing products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments on renovation and cost optimisation projects.
  • Engage in scientific writings and presentations, including grant applications and conference/scientific papers.

Contract Services

  • Participate in customers' meetings and business development activities.
  • Manage projects, planning, scheduling, and coordinating internal resources, liaising with third parties/vendors for seamless project execution.
  • Prepare business process reports, proposals, and quotations for both management and customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Academic

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science & Technology. A Master's or PhD degree is a strong advantage but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on product development experience, including work in a food processing factory.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability for written publications.
  • Solid organisational skills with multitasking ability.
  • A team player with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, demonstrating the ability to work in cross-functional matrix teams.
  • Strong stakeholder with proven conflict management abilities.
  • Strong network within the food industry is a strong advantage.
  • Resourceful problem solver with a "Can-do" mentality.
