Job Description
The SEO Marketing Copywriter is an individual contributor within the creative department who is responsible for developing original content. You are required to identify SEO strategy objectives, quickly research and create search-optimized, user-friendly content. Marketing Copywriters must be fearless of tight deadlines and heavy workloads, writing and researching an average of seven to twelve pieces of content per day. Time management and the ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently are essential to success in this role. Critical thinking, creativity and time management are necessary for success.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Write between 100 and 150 pieces of high-quality, organic search-optimized web content per month, adhering to strict quality guidelines
- Independently manage production schedules to meet stringent internal deadlines
- Conduct competitor and keyword research to produce top-ranking content
- Develop targeted SEO content for multi channels including newsletter, Medium, Community Platforms, Guest Posts, Flipboard, Slideshare, PR web etc
- Edit content created by yourself and others without error
- Utilize website platforms for content publication
- Observe and comprehend brand-specific compliance specifications
- Actively contribute to departmental and company objectives
- Know and implement SEO best practices for content creation
- Identify problems or issues, bring them to the attention of leadership, and present potential solutions
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in English, creative writing, journalism, communications, or a related field
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience managing a large client base and day-to-day workload
- Fully competent in every facet of the Copywriter Skills Matrix
- Active interest in organic search, search engines, and digital marketing, as well as a desire to remain current on industry news and developments
- “Always learning” mentality, motivated by the desire to continuously acquire and enhance knowledge and skills
- Capability to deliver high-quality content on a strict deadline
- Willingness to work extra hours as needed to complete projects on time
- Strong critical thinking and reasoning abilities
- Willingness to accept and enthusiastically embrace changing processes, gray areas, and new ideas.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Strong eye for detail for quality control and editing your own work
- Expertise in Google Docs/Google Sheets or Microsoft Word/Excel
- Experience conducting and applying competitor research using Google and SEMRush
- Demonstrable knowledge of SEO fundamentals
- Knowledge of organic KPI trends
