We are looking for a DevOps Cloud Engineer on a 6 months contract basis. This is an extendable contract position based on the individuals performance.
Job Description:
Development Practice:
• Embrace automation as the default approach to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
• Proficient in building Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines to facilitate seamless software delivery.
• Incorporate security scanning and performance testing into the build process to ensure robustness.
• Monitor system performance to align with user requirements and organizational objectives.
• Supervise assigned programs, including conducting code reviews, and establish and uphold team standards.
• Assess and select suitable software or hardware solutions and propose integration strategies.
• Prioritize reliability, performance, and availability in system development and maintenance.
Infrastructure:
• Possess strong knowledge of multiple operating systems to support diverse infrastructure environments.
• Proficient in scripting techniques to automate tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Expertise in at least one database platform and familiarity with various data storage paradigms.
• Capable of automating Platform as a Service (PAAS) technologies to optimize infrastructure management.
• Aptitude in selecting and applying appropriate infrastructure technologies as per project requirements.
• Understanding of network communications, including TCP/IP and HTTP protocols.
Security:
• Prioritize writing secure code and adhere to security best practices by default.
• Proficient in utilizing tools like nmap and Metasploit for comprehensive security assessments.
• Familiarity with server hardening techniques to enhance system security.
• Understanding of security principles, including SSL protocols and data encryption.
Behaviours & Collaboration:
• Lead discussions on the design of DevOps processes and systems within the team.
• Confident in presenting technical information to diverse audiences.
• Obtain team buy-in and actively drive the design and implementation process.
• Mentor and develop team members to foster a collaborative and skilled workforce.
• Possess sufficient domain knowledge to collaborate effectively with Product Owners and drive business value.
Expereince & Skills:
• Bachelors degree or equivalent
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) principles.
• 4+ Years of expereince in DevOps and Cloud Role
• Expereince in building CI/CD pipelines
• Strong knowledge of programming languages, such as Python, Ruby, or Java
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and technologies, such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible
• Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
