Job Purpose
Lockton are currently recruiting an experienced M&A/Corporate lawyer to join our Transactional Risks team in Singapore as a broker.
As a broker in the Transactional risks team, you will be responsible for providing advice and taking the lead on complex M&A transactions. As the team continues to grow this experienced hire will be there to assist key clients and support the well-established Transactional Risks team.

Job Description
- Assisting in business development, where appropriate individually initiate and close new business opportunities from potential clients and the Lockton network
- When acting as lead deal team member, manage the deal team and process; to include:
1. Lead initial conversations with clients and/or their advisers
2. Provide advice on the scope of coverage and insurance structure to meets the clients’ coverage needs
3. Analyse transaction documents and provide advice to the client and its advisers on the likely insurable position
4. Review DD reports in order to understand key deal issues relevant to successful risk placement
5. Lead negotiations with markets
6. Manage process through to successful close
- Assist team in developing consistent, market leading wordings.
- Assist junior team members in understanding complex policy matters
- Where required assist in business development, to include: feeding into promotional materials, attending presentations, conferences, marketing and PR campaigns; researching and writing content for articles and publications as required
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Singapore College of Insurance (Certification in General Insurance)
- Diploma/Degree in related fields
- Qualified Lawyer
Experience:
- Experience working with W&I, tax, litigation, environmental and IP insurance
- Experience of leading international M&A work streams
- Experience leading client presentations

Your knowledge and expertise:

- Some experience of transaction liability products preferred but not essential
Prior experience in legal, M&A or corporate fields:
- Familiar with SPA warranties and indemnities
- Familiar with legal due diligence on M&A transactions
- Familiar with Asia M&A deals
- Strong relationship-building and networking skills
- Tertiary qualifications in Law
- Proficiency in MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
