Assistant Finance Manager

We are currently seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to join our client in the freight forwarding industry. Being part of their integral team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting principles, corporate policies, and external audits. You will oversee accounts payable, payroll functions, monthly account closures, and report preparation to support financial statements. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will lead the Accounts team and collaborate closely with the Finance Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and improve internal accounting processes to align with International Financial Reporting Standards
  • Manage monthly financial close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and report preparation
  • Ensure compliance with internal control policies during audits, and collaborate with external auditors
  • Review and advise on financial/accounting processes
  • Supervise accounting and finance associates, manage workload allocation, and provide training and development
  • Provide cash flow planning, analysis, and project budgeting
  • Coordinate tax return data and manage all tax-related tasks
  • Handle other ad hoc tasks as required by the Head of Finance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • At least 5 years of accounting experience
  • Proven experience as an Assistant Finance Manager
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
  • Strong team management, analytical, and organisational skills
  • Excellent technical accounting and research skills
