Job Description:
- Assist in the preparation and production of a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
- Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients accurately to ensure consistency and quality in pastry and desserts production.
- Operate baking equipment and ovens to bake pastries and desserts to perfection.
- Assist in decorating and plating pastries and desserts, ensuring they are visually appealing and meet presentation standards.
- Provide support to the Pastry Chef and senior pastry staff in various tasks, including prepping ingredients, assembling desserts, and organizing workstations.
- Assist in monitoring inventory levels, stocking supplies, and reporting shortages or needs to the Pastry Chef.
- Maintain a clean and organized pastry kitchen, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operation during service times
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Pastry Commis or in a similar role within a professional kitchen environment is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of baking and pastry techniques, including dough preparation, baking, and decorating.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating high-quality pastries and desserts.
- Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Strong team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude.
