To oversee the financial management and reporting activities of the company, responsible for budget planning as well as supporting executive management team in a variety of operational decisions.
To facilitate good corporate governance practices established by BOD in addition to ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for full spectrum of accounting & financial functions for designated companies
- Review month end and annual closing activities and reporting, including tracking and reporting of variances
- Perform analysis of fluctuation in significant items for the monthly financial results
- Manage and lead finance team to ensure timely and accurate month and year end closing reporting
- Oversee and provide guidance to finance team in operational financial matters, to ensure compliance to internal control, accounting standards, legal and statutory requirements, including GST reporting.
- Provide analysis to management and business units to make informed decisions aimed.
- Establish key financial strategies to enhance business profitability
- Handle corporate tax and GST compliance, statistics surveys and statutory matters.
- Oversee the budgeting preparation, management and monitoring processes.
- Participate in performance evaluation of finance staff and conduct counseling sessions to identify skill development needs
- Involve in the pricing policy and revision
- Manage and agree with IRAS on the property tax computation
- Group insurance renewal review and related matters on claims follow up
- Ensure that policies and procedures and limits of authority are adhered to and financial controls are in place
- Looking into strengthening current internal control and process improvement, including drafting or revising the SOP
- Manage annual and scheduled inventory stock take.
- Prepare and co-ordinate the quarterly and half yearly reporting to head office, e.g. interested party transactions disclosure
- Liaise with internal auditors, external auditors and tax agents
- Liaise and follow up with bankers on banking facilities
- Handle any other ad hoc duties as directed by management
- Participate in system implementation and upgrades, including redesign of workflows and processes based on best practices and automation
- Lead or support local and corporate projects
REQUIREMENTS
- A recognized degree / ACCA
- Experience in overseeing the financial management and reporting activities of the company, including leading a finance team
- 5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
