Responsibilities:
- Surgical Preparation:Prepare and perform surgical procedures in a sterile manner, following asepsis principles.
Coordinate and prepare surgical equipment and instruments. - Instrument Management:Conduct full counts of instruments before, during, and after surgeries.
Safely handle sharps and contaminated waste. - Assisting in Anesthesia:Participate in safe anesthesia care for general, regional, and deep sedation anesthesia.
- Scrubbing, Circulating, and Recovery Duties:Perform scrubbing, circulating, and recovery duties.
Assist with patient transfer to the recovery area. - Patient Care:Provide pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Housekeeping and Compliance:Maintain cleanliness according to Infection Control Standards.
Assist in operating room cleaning and management. - Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate surgical and patient care records.
Report discrepancies or issues to supervisors.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution approved by the Singapore Nursing Board.
- Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB).
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in healthcare operating theatre settings.
- Experience in orthopedic surgery preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and sterile techniques.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification; ACLS is a plus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
