Job Summary

· This role partners with leaders in Corporate & Investment Banking (“CIB”) to deliver performance, reward and benefits outcomes that incentivise and reward the delivery of the CIB strategy and create a performance orientated and innovative culture that emphasises conduct and sustainability.

· The role holder will provide a point of expertise, guidance and support for relevant Business and HR stakeholders.

Strategy

· Demonstrate expertise in performance, reward and benefits (“PRB”) matters, acting as a trusted adviser to relevant CIB Banking & Coverage Management Team members and their direct teams on incentive arrangements and general reward matters.

· Participate in the development and review of PRB products. Lead communications and implementation within CIB Banking & Coverage using employee insights.

· Oversee the development of fair pay and wellbeing strategies and targeted interventions for CIB Banking & Coverage.

· Monitor the performance and effectiveness of reward policies, programmes and processes in achieving business objectives.

· Identify challenges and opportunities and form agile multi-disciplinary teams to resolve issues.

· Contribute to thought leadership on how to design and implement performance, reward and benefits for the workforce of the future.

Business

· Establish relationships with key business stakeholders, enabling the identification and understanding of business objectives.

· Advise on CIB Banking & Coverage compensation matters, including structuring packages, reviewing new hires, changes to existing employees’ contracts, developing high remuneration recruit proposals, mobility taxation and share buy-outs.

· Contribute to governance bodies and manage any dedicated oversight bodies

Processes

· Collaborate with PRB product and process teams to achieve excellence in the implementation of PRB products and policies across countries, seeking to improve understanding to drive business performance and employee motivation.

· Manage performance and pay review processes in line with the global principles, acting as a point of contact for respective management teams. This includes determining leadership messaging, reviewing pay proposals and managing annual compensation processes including funding, budgeting and forecasting.

· Collaborate with PRB specialists on market pricing to increase the level of consistency across markets, reduce vendor costs and generally ensure data is used in an impactful manner.

· Manage, evaluate and improve effectiveness of all HR products, plans and processes.

· Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology enhancements, migration or process improvements.

· Participate in compensation and benefit market surveys, analyse results and make appropriate recommendations to maintain market competitiveness.

· Review the impact of risk, control and conduct matters on performance and pay decisions in CIB Banking & Coverage.

People & Talent

· Coach PRB colleagues, motivating and developing them to achieve high standards of performance.

Risk Management

· Identify and articulate forward looking risks in PRB products and processes, particularly in the areas of structured incentives

· Support statutory and internal audits.

· Work with business and HR process owners to articulate and manage risks through designated risk forums and/or process or product governance committees.

· Work with the Reward Governance team on the alignment of structured incentives with regulatory guidance in all countries and that they follow best practice.
