Overall purpose of role

Asia credit products continue to be a growth area in our global credit franchise. We are looking for a salesperson who can cover Asia hedge fund and real money clients with focus on our flow franchise. The salesperson should also be able to cross sell broader opportunities (US and European credit, loans, distressed products) to his client base. The ability to interact and cover our European clients for Asian products would be a positive. The ability to generate content (such as colour, views, trade ideas) that can be value accretive to our Asian client base is a must have.

Key Accountabilities

· The salesperson will be covering Asian real money and hedge fund clients

· The salesperson should be able to work with our flow credit traders and broader EM and US credit franchise to cross sell opportunities into the Asian client base

· Strong content creation and value add is a must have

· Should know the underlying credit stories well and be able to connect with PMs and analysts on views and ideas

· Should have the ability to understand and analyse other credit products such as CLNs, repacks, loans etc.

Stakeholder Management and Leadership

· The salesperson should have high level of communication and leadership skills so that he/she can deliver a well-planned strategy for our Top 100 and Core clients in the region.

Decision-making and Problem Solving

· This is a client facing role so the candidate should possess strong problem solving skills dealing with clients and issues

Risk and Control Objective

Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.

Person Specification

· Proven client and stakeholder management ability and good problem solving skills

· Strong knowledge of credit products

· Proven sales track record

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

· The salesperson will be covering Asian real money and hedge fund clients

· The salesperson should be able to work with our flow credit traders and broader EM and US credit franchise to cross sell opportunities into the Asian client base

· Strong content creation and value add is a must have

· Should know the underlying credit stories well and be able to connect with PMs and analysts on views and ideas

· Should have the ability to understand and analyse other credit products such as CLNs, repacks, loans etc.

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

· Apart from just selling Asia products, the salesperson should be able to think globally and connect with our traders outside of Asia to deliver our global franchise to clients.

Regulated Role

This role will require the role holder to hold mandatory registrations with Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)
