The Data Governance and Policy Lead is responsible for establishing and maintaining an enterprise data governance framework to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across the organization.
This role involves developing data policies, standards, and best practices,
as well as working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure these are adhered to.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, regulatory compliance, and policy development.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Governance Strategy:
· Develop and implement an enterprise-wide data governance strategy.
· Define and manage data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
· Establish and lead a data governance council or committee.
Policy Development:
· Create and maintain data policies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
· Ensure policies are aligned with business objectives and industry best practices.
· Regularly review and update policies to adapt to changes in regulations and organizational needs.
Compliance and Risk Management:
· Monitor compliance with data governance policies and standards.
· Identify and mitigate data-related risks.
· Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure data integrity and security.
Stakeholder Engagement:
· Work with business units, IT, legal, and other stakeholders to ensure data governance policies are understood and followed.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
· Experience in data governance, data management, and enhancing data policies
· Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data management principles, and regulatory requirements
