An Asia based fund management company founded in 2000 with offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, and London that invests in pan-Asia long only equities is looking to hire an Investment Analyst to cover Japan. The position will be based in the Singapore office.
The investment strategy is a fundamentals-driven, “private equity” approach to APAC public markets. The firm today has approximately US$2.8 billion in AUM managed on behalf of institutional clients primarily from the US and Europe.
Qualifications:
· Undergraduate degree from a top tier school with a minimum 2 years of experience with a leading firm in private equity, investment banking, or management consulting
· Strong academic credentials, analytical, and financial modeling skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Liaison with Japanese listed and private companies. Proficiency in Japanese and English is a must.
· Smart, driven, creative, and hard-working individual with a passion for learning about investing
Role:
· Report to the Managing Director on the investment team covering Japan who is based in Singapore
· Evaluate Japanese listed and private companies for potential investment opportunities
· Conduct industry and company due diligence using primary and secondary research tools
· Analyze and evaluate business models and financial statements
· Frequent travel to Japan for on-the-ground company visits and research
· Specific activities will be determined based on the investment team’s need and the individual’s skillset
