We are seeking an Assistant Automation/Systems Engineer to assist our project and development team. In this position, you will be involved in designing, testing, optimizing and implementing automated systems targeted at enhancing business processes, extending machinery lifespan, and offering solutions for predictive maintenance. You will work on both hardware and software aspects of automation, ensuring seamless system integration within industrial environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in designing, testing, and optimizing automated systems to improve business processes
- Participate in conducting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and technical/software demonstrations at customer sites
- Perform on-site and/or remotely support, ie. hands-on installation, debugging, fixing, testing & commissioning, troubleshooting & root cause analysis of application related issues
- Carry out HMI development, SCADA programming and Integration with PLC/DDC and other controllers, Routers & Gateways
- Carry out Preventive/Predictive Maintenance of plant instrumentation, vibration monitoring system, control and electrical system to ensure high reliability and availability (on/off site)
- Program, configure, maintain, and deploy related components (HMI, Switches, MSSQL/Postgres Database, RTU, Firewall, DDNS, VPN, Zigbee
- Responsible for Integrating & implementing networking solutions into panels on-site (3G/4G, OPC, Daisy Chain, LAN)
- Assist in configuring PLC network systems and deploying related components
- Providing customers with step-by-step guidance, software training, and technical support & solutions for products (online & on-site)
- Identify and resolve potential issues to continually improve process
- Work cross-functionally with procurement, IT and other departments for seamless project execution
- Review OEM technical documents and analyze specifications for compliance and performance
- Ensure smooth transition of processes and compliance in accordance with SOP
- Other ad-hoc duties as assigned to support overall team objectives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Proven experience in automation systems design, testing, and optimization
- Proficiency in HMI development, SCADA programming, and PLC configuration
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience with networking solutions and integration
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders
- Possess a valid Singapore Class 3 Driving License
