Job description
- Lead and mentor a team of audiovisual technicians, providing training and performance evaluations to maintain high service standards.
- Develop and implement audiovisual policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with event organizers, presenters, and stakeholders to determine audiovisual needs for various events and productions.
- Oversee the setup, configuration, and operation of audiovisual equipment, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal functionality.
- Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of equipment prior to events, ensuring high-quality sound and visuals.
- Provide technical support during events, promptly resolving any issues to maintain smooth operations.
- Manage the audiovisual inventory, ensuring proper organization, storage, and labeling of equipment, cables, connectors, and accessories.
- Schedule and perform routine maintenance and periodic calibration of equipment to ensure longevity and optimal performance.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in audiovisual technology, recommending upgrades and new equipment to enhance overall experiences.
- Collaborate with IT and network administrators to integrate audiovisual systems with existing infrastructure, ensuring compatibility and reliability.
- Maintain comprehensive records of audiovisual setups, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for future reference and knowledge sharing.
- Generate detailed expense reports for management, tracking costs and identifying areas for budget optimization.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on collaboration and team cohesion.
- Extensive knowledge of audiovisual equipment, including projectors, sound systems, microphones, video conferencing systems, and lighting equipment.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting audiovisual software and hardware.
- Ability to anticipate and adapt to technological advancements.
- Experience in budgeting, cost management, and resource allocation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Technology, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) are highly desirable.
- Proven experience working as an Audio Visual Specialist or in a similar role, preferably in a corporate, educational, or production environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed depending on event schedules.
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy audiovisual equipment, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
