Key Responsibilities:
1. Tax Compliance: Oversee the preparation and filing of quarterly and annual tax returns. Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international tax laws and regulations.
2. Tax Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement strategic tax plans for clients that minimize tax liabilities and maximize compliance. Advise clients on the tax implications of business and investment decisions.
3. Client Advisory Services: Provide expert advice on business and indirect taxes, including VAT, GST, and other sales taxes. Assist clients with audits and inquiries by tax authorities.
4. International Tax Matters: Manage and advise on cross-border tax issues, including transfer pricing, tax treaties, and foreign tax credits.
5. Regulatory Monitoring: Keep abreast of changes in tax legislation and analyze their impact on clients. Inform clients and internal teams of relevant updates in tax laws.
6. Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals. Manage the allocation of client work and support ongoing professional development.
7. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate tax-related risks. Ensure robust compliance practices and strategies are in place to handle the complexities of international and indirect tax systems.
8. Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional client service and ensuring that all client needs are met concerning tax matters.
