Salary up to S$7,000
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for testing and analysis.
- Oversee the procurement of necessary equipment for laboratory operations.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and cleanliness of laboratory equipment and facilities.
- Monitor and enforce safety compliance for all laboratory consumables, equipment, and fixtures.
- Manage all portable X-Ray devices, including maintaining equipment logs.
- Assist in monitoring and reviewing the department's monthly and quarterly operational budget, reporting to the Managing Director.
- Handle the application and management of licenses related to lab consumables, equipment, and fixtures.
- Administer laboratory documentation, including ISO management and renewal.
- Identify and develop testing and analytical methodologies for refining base and precious metals from electronic waste, jewelry, and other precious metal-laden scrap.
- Prepare and test precious metal samples from spent auto catalysts, electronic waste, and gold scrap.
- Collaborate with the Guangzhou laboratory and other team members to analyze Precious and Platinum Group Metals in electronic scrap, spent auto catalysts, and related materials using ICP-OES, XRF machines, and other lab equipment.
- Provide analytical data to the Engineering team to optimize processes and sampling systems.
- Identify and evaluate new sampling processes and analysis methods for precious metals recovery.
- Ensure in-house ICP analysis results align with those of partner refineries.
- Support the development of solutions to enhance sampling analysis and extraction processes for precious metals.
- Keep analysis methodologies and procedures updated with market trends.
- Assist in the recruitment process for lab staff, including conducting interviews.
- Delegate tasks effectively while monitoring and supporting the team to ensure accuracy and precision of analysis results.
- Conduct training and guide interns and trainees.
- Identify and assess talent, providing training, mentoring, and coaching for team members.
- Manage the team's yearly performance appraisals, gather feedback, and motivate team members.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 4 years of managerial experience in a laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in operating ICP equipment and providing ICP training.
- At least 2 years of experience with XRF analytical tools is advantageous.
- Experience with ISO renewal processes is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership, mentoring, and coaching.
