Responsibilities
* Enter and inspect premises;
* Explain purpose of the inspection at the beginning of the inspection, provide closing debrief, resolution to infringement;
* Provide explanation/elaboration of required follow-up actions at the end of inspection;
* Interview individual believed to be relevant to the case according to guidelines, checklists and questionnaires;
* Record fire safety infringement/findings relevant to the case (includes using photography);
Collect relevant documentation;
* Check and test fire safety measures (e.g., exit light, emergency light, hose reel);
* To submit an inspection report of the inspected premises;
* Upload inspection report and relevant documentation/findings into the system;
* Identify fire safety infringement and recommend for enforcement action (e.g., Enforcement Notice), Serve Enforcement Notice to site;
* Carry out follow-up action to verify that fire safety infringement is rectified;
* Serve as a Point-Of-Contact to the public for matters related to inspection;
* Prepare and submit Court Charge Paper or Statement of Facts (“SOF”)
* Manage public queries received through the hotline and email account and complaints arising from the inspections and accurate replies are provided to the public
Requirements
* At least 5 ‘O’ Level passes (or equivalent), or higher qualification.
Or at least five (5) years of working experience in enforcement, investigation or inspection related to fire safety;
* At least one (1) year of relevant work experience in enforcement, investigation or inspection;
* Experience in fire safety inspection, investigation or enforcement is preferred
