- Operational and Organizational Leadership and Management
- Thought-partner to the Founder/Chairman and translates Founder’s vision into operational plans and initiatives
- Drives strategies and initiatives core to advancing Viva’s mission, e.g. programme development, outreach initiatives, coordinating research, etc.
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the organisation and ensure its overall successful long-term operations, including performing general management duties
- Oversees, motivates and mentors the internal team to grow and delivering the organization’s impact
- Fosters a culture that encourages collaboration between departments and recognizes positive contributions
- Manages and motivates staff, oversees processes such as hiring, separation, ongoing staff development, performance management, and compensation and benefits
- Inspires a profession, results-driven environment
- Development and Fundraising
- Drive development and fundraising in collaboration with the Development Manager, and Board as needed, including overseeing fundraising events
- Oversee donor cultivation and ongoing donor management
- Ensure the organization’s financial stability and sustainability by maintaining healthy cash flow and adequate reserves
- Board Governance
- Communicate effectively with the Board by providing all information necessary to continually function properly and make informed decisions in a timely and accurate manner
- Attend all Board meetings and provide report and updates on staff as well as all current work, projects, financials, etc.
- Implement Board policies and procedures
- Work with Board and its Committees to ensure ongoing communication of risks, issues as well as successes
- Financial Management and Administration
- Assume responsibility for the fiscal integrity of the organisation
- Prudently direct resources and manage all financials within budget guidelines and accordingly to current laws and regulations
- Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or master's degree in a relevant discipline or MBA. Experience in a senior management position.
* Knowledge of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting.
* Ability to build consensus and relationships among executives, partners, and the workforce.
* Passion for Viva Foundation's mission and a commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of children diagnosed with cancer.
