Our Client is looking for an experienced Claims Executive to join their team in Singapore. This role involves handling a variety of P&I claims, including some that may be complex, from start to finish.
As a Claims Executive, you’ll manage a range of P&I claims, including some of the more challenging ones, from the moment they’re reported until they’re resolved.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing various types of claims, such as those related to personal injuries, cargo, property damage, collisions, and pollution.
- Ensuring that the risk or claim falls within the scope of the Member’s agreement with the Club.
- Resolving third-party P&I claims in the most cost-effective manner, adhering to the Club’s Rules and the Member’s Terms of Entry.
- Addressing Defence disputes.
- Engaging professionals like lawyers, surveyors, consultants, and correspondents, critically assessing their advice, and taking necessary actions.
- Informing Reinsurers and making recoveries from the pool, excess reinsurers, or other relevant parties as needed.
- Conducting internal reporting.
- Drafting agendas and reports.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in claims handling, preferably in the P&I sector.
- Strong knowledge of the maritime industry and its related legal aspects.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage complex cases and make decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and claims management software.
- A law degree or a relevant qualification would be advantageous.
