Public Relations Manager

Job Summary: The Public Relations Manager will oversee all aspects of our public relations initiatives, managing external communications, cultivating a positive public image, and fostering media relationships. This role is critical in enhancing our brand presence, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring our company’s messaging is consistent and impactful.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive PR strategies and campaigns that align with our business objectives.
    Identify opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising to promote our brand.
  2. Media Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts, journalists, and influencers.
    Prepare and distribute press releases, pitch stories, and coordinate interviews to secure media coverage.
  3. Content Creation: Write, edit, and oversee the production of various PR materials, including press releases, speeches, articles, and social media content.
    Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
  4. Crisis Management: Develop crisis communication plans and act as the company’s spokesperson during emergencies or adverse events.
    Monitor public sentiment and address potential issues proactively.
  5. Event Management: Plan and execute company events, press conferences, and promotional activities.
    Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure successful event delivery.
  6. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, investors, and community leaders.
    Manage and respond to inquiries from the public and the media.
  7. Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor media coverage and analyze PR campaign effectiveness using relevant metrics.
    Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on PR activities and outcomes.
  8. Budget Management: Manage the PR budget, ensuring all activities are cost-effective and provide a good return on investment.
    Negotiate and oversee contracts with PR agencies and external vendors.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience:5+ years of experience in public relations, with a proven track record in managing PR campaigns and media relations.
    Experience in a leadership role within a PR team is preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences.
    Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
    Proficiency in media monitoring tools and PR software.
    Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
    Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
    Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication strategies.
    Knowledge of crisis management practices and protocols.
  • Attributes: Strategic and analytical mindset.
    Proactive and self-motivated.
    High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
    Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Must be bilingual in Chinese and English, to communicate effectively with Chinese-Speaking clients/internal personnel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in a specific industry relevant to the company (e.g., technology, healthcare, finance).
  • Certifications from recognized PR bodies (e.g., APR, CPRC).
