Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and update safety policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Ensure consistent safety protocols across construction sites.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and propose effective control measures.
- Update risk assessments based on project phases and site conditions.
- Plan and deliver safety training programs for construction personnel.
- Mentor and support site safety personnel to enhance their skills.
- Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend preventive measures.
- Ensure incidents are promptly reported to relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations, codes, and company standards.
- Conduct audits and inspections, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop emergency response plans, conduct drills, and coordinate responses during emergencies.
- Collaborate with emergency services and stakeholders for effective emergency management.
- Foster a strong safety culture through campaigns, activities, and recognition programs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with 3-5 years in construction.
- Minimum 2 years of experience leading a team of site safety personnel.
- Possession of a Class 3 driving license.
- 5-10 years of progressive experience in construction safety.
- Preferably 5 years of experience with developers or main contractors.
- In-depth knowledge of construction safety regulations and practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.
- Analytical mindset with expertise in risk assessment and incident investigation.
- Proficiency in safety audits, inspections, and compliance monitoring.
