This role is for ADM's joint venture, based in Tuas West Drive and operating in 3 shifts.
Your Responsibilities:
- Perform full course of operations from material handling (receiving, storage, dispensing), fermentation (media preparations, sampling, adjustments, charge out), downstream operations (centrifuge, filtering, spray dry, packing) and CIP/SIP as per SOP to meet desired production output and achieve good product quality.
- Perform pre- and post-campaign activities, cleaning and inspection to ensure full sanitization of equipment and pipelines.
- During operation, perform process control via on-site panel or remotely, monitor process trends and alarms through the SCADA system.
- Monitor other plant status e.g. utilities, report issues and liaise with external vendors for immediate recovery actions to ensure minimal interruption to manufacturing process.
- Perform basic maintenance of the production equipment to ensure they are in optimal conditions to facilitate effective and efficient production.
- Complete all documentation according to GMP and GDP standards.
- Conduct stock count at the end of campaign to ensure all materials used are recorded and balance stocks are in line with book balance.
- Perform transactions and operations in Dynamics365.
- Generate shift report, ensure proper communication and handling over of shift duties.
- Assist Process Engineers to troubleshoot all operating deviations and issues and coordinate with other function when required.
- Report all actual, near misses and potential accidents for further investigation, and participate actively to resolve any near miss situations.
- Perform daily housekeeping and maintain the overall production area and equipment cleanliness
- Participate in 5S, lean manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Comply with Company’s policies, procedures and safety rules and practices.
- Assist in project commissioning and validation activities as necessary
Your Profile:
- Diploma or equivalent in food science/technology, biotech/bioengineering, chemical engineering or relevant field of studies with minimum 5 to 10 years of working experience in food manufacturing or related field, experience in fermentation will be a plus OR
- Degree in food science/technology, biotech/bioengineering, chemical engineering or relevant field of studies with minimum 2 years of working experience in food manufacturing or related field, experience in fermentation will be a plus
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing and Good Documentation Practices
- Knowledge or experience in food safety requirements
- Prior work experience in implementation and maintenance of ISO22000, FSSC22000, BRC or relevant certification is advantageous
- Proficient in written and spoken English
- Computer-literate with knowledge of MS Office applications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
- Possess good self-discipline
- A good team player with strong initiative and an analytical mind
- Willing to perform rotating shifts.
