Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled VMWare Cloud Technical Account Manager (TAM) to join our team. The TAM will be responsible for managing and optimizing our VMware environment, ensuring seamless operation, proactive maintenance, and strategic guidance aligned with organizational goals. This role requires both technical expertise in VMware products and excellent client management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor Relationship Management:Interface directly with the VMware Principal Vendor to ensure alignment with our organization's needs and strategic objectives.
- Operational Review Meetings:Conduct monthly meetings with the Cloud Services Support Infra Operations Department to review VMware Cluster Health Checks, Support Cases, Licensing, and Capacity/Utilization Reports.
- Customer Advocacy:Share VMware knowledge resources, provide product roadmap updates, conduct technology assessments, and offer solution guidance to optimize operations.
- Operational Reports and Risk Mitigations:Coordinate issue management, provide quarterly health check reports, recommend performance optimizations, and develop proactive maintenance plans.
- Technical Guidance and Best Practices:Document best practices, lead technical advisory sessions, facilitate knowledge transfer workshops, and oversee software/firmware upgrades and security advisories.
- Incident Management Support:Manage and support VMware-related incidents, perform root cause analysis, and develop incident resolution plans.
- Insight and Planning:Produce quarterly TAM assessment reports and collaborate on technology adoption plans.
- On-site and Remote Support:Provide both on-site and remote assistance as needed to ensure prompt resolution of technical issues and support organizational operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Technical Account Manager or similar role, specifically with VMware technologies.
- Strong understanding of VMware products, solutions, and their integration into enterprise environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with technical teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Certification in VMware technologies (e.g., VCP) is highly desirable.
- Experience in incident management, root cause analysis, and developing technical documentation.
- Proactive attitude towards problem-solving and continuous improvement.
