IT Systems Engineer/Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Attend IT support calls from users and log each call individually with details description.
  • Daily tasks to administer quarantined emails and spam emails.
  • Responsible for the entry, tracking and management of all incoming support calls.
  • Priorities support calls and assign task accordingly to the appropriate resources.
  • Provide IT user support for HQ and Operation staff to ensure maximum availability and continuity of information technology resources available in the property.
  • System administration for user onboarding and offboarding i.e account provisioning and deprovisioning.
  • Follow-up with vendors solving problems and support related issues in accordance with the established procedures issued by HQ office.
  • Provide support for the IT security infrastructure components like firewalls, intrusion prevention/detection systems, end-point protection system, SIEM etc.
  • Manage fault rectification process, and troubleshoot hardware and software technical problems using a range of diagnostic utility tools
  • Work closely with product vendor to ensure customer infrastructure is in good condition.
  • Manage patching process and maintain the IT security components, e.g. monitor, evaluate, test, and apply critical patches to operating systems, applications, etc.
  • Perform periodic preventive maintenance to relevant equipment..
  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain servers, computers, and network.
  • Improve and maintain the network infrastructure and network security setup and architecture.
  • Design, configure and deploy and maintain all network and security solutions.
  • Investigate, trouble-shoot and resolve IT related issues.
  • Identifies and schedules and project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks. Develops and maintains technical and project documentation. Coordinates resources/personnel to various projects/tasks that are assigned to and records and reports on the activity to the management.
  • Follow guidelines given in any standards and other documentation produced by the HQ office.
  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of hardware and software licenses and keep it up to date with the changes take place as and when.
  • Support site issues and requests on systems.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
  • Be aware of IT operational budget and maintain IT expenses in line with the budget. Maximize use of available resources to save cost.
  • Maintain Website ad hoc updates as needed, liaise with web designer vendor when needed.

Requirements:

  • Diploma / Degree in IT with at least 0 - 2 years of relevant work experience in IT operation related field.
  • Proficient in end user support.
  • For Network, preferably with knowledge of networking protocols such as but not limited to, NAT, DHCP, DNS, BGP, RIP, OSPF and knowledge of switching protocols (VLAN, STP, VTP, EtherChannel, Port Security)
  • A team player and able to work independently under minimum supervision.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with friendly disposition and customer centric focus is a must.
  • Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and network operating system, Sophos endpoint, good knowledge of MS Office Suite and familiarity with other Office packages is preferable. (Office 365 email/SharePoint) VMWare & Linux would be an added advantage.
  • Able to work independently, a self-starter as well as a team player.
  • Preferably bi-lingual in English and Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin speaking associates.
  • Willing to travel when required between offices.
  • Good interpersonal and human relations skills.
  • Responsible for any other ad hoc duties assigned.
  • Important to have a can-do attitude, willingness to self-learn and guide others.
