Cantonese Opera Musician

We are seeking a skilled musician proficient in playing percussion instruments for Cantonese opera performances. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional skills in playing traditional percussion instruments such as gong, cymbals, bells, and drums. Familiarity and understanding of Cantonese opera music and performance styles are essential.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform live percussion accompaniment during Cantonese opera performances.
2. Coordinate with other musicians and performers to enhance the overall musical experience.
3. Maintain the integrity of traditional Cantonese opera music through precise and authentic percussion techniques.
4. Rehearse regularly to ensure mastery of musical cues and timing.
5. Collaborate with directors and performers to achieve the desired artistic expression in each performance.
6. Adapt percussion accompaniment according to the requirements of different Cantonese opera productions.

Requirements:

1. Proficiency in playing traditional percussion instruments including gong, cymbals, bells, and drums.

3. Prior experience as a percussionist in Cantonese opera productions is preferred.
4. Strong musical ear and ability to improvise and adapt percussion accompaniment as necessary.

4. Familiarity with other aspects of Cantonese opera production such as stagecraft, costume design, or singing is a plus.
