Senior Catering Sales Manager

The main responsibilities and tasks of this position are listed as, but not limited to the following:

  • Work with Director of Catering Sales to create, implement and execute annual sales plan addressing revenue, customers and sales activity plan based on owned portfolio to achieve the overall catering segment.
  • Manage the sales of weddings, social events, seminars, meetings and solicit new weddings and businesses to achieve individual and team sales targets as well as hotel revenue goals.
  • Assist in developing and executing projects and sales strategies for assignedmarket areas to increase catering activity, volume, and profit to achieve sales target.
  • Source for partnership opportunities with bridal retails, MICE intermediaries and ther merchants to generate leads and create exposure for the hotel.
  • Closely monitor weddings and MICE account revenue and business production. Adjust strategies and key actions to achieve the targeted goals.
  • Conduct sales calls and tele-sales to develop new business.
  • Respond to incoming leads and solicit partnership with other business partners for leads generation.
  • Coordinate the sales efforts between the sales department and catering to ensure proper utilization of function space to generate catering leads with close follow-up and monitoring of leads leading to conversion and yield maximum revenues.
  • Review Prospect events in system and have full control of function room usage to maximize yields.
  • Achieve and maximize hotel occupancy, guest rooms and catering revenue.
  • Convert prospective clientele into committed customers through on-site visits/meetings, property tours, and proactive communication.
  • Promote and market function rooms / meeting rooms / ballrooms and the outlets for functions, conferences, meetings, exhibitions, and banquet events.
  • Prepare proposals, engage in negotiations and confirmation of business through contracting.
  • Establish strong working relationship with Wedding couples and maintain accurate and updated information about their needs for their function.
  • Design and plan wedding packages to maximize the conversions and profitability for the hotel.
  • Negotiate and review weddings / social packages offered to clients.
  • Finalize all bookings, maximizing all revenue potential by up-selling in all revenue producing areas.
  • Follow through event management flow process from the initial stage until the end of the event or group departure. Be visible to organizer and clients during their event and group and constantly seek feedback on guests’ satisfaction.
  • Assist in menu planning in response to guest needs and maintain close contact with active accounts to promote repeat business.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure smooth execution of events.
  • Attending and conducting event briefings, Banquet Event Order (BEO) meetings, pre-con meetings, and any other meetings as needed to discuss event arrangements to ensure a seamless event execution.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of competitors’ major strengths and weaknesses and selling and pricing strategies.
  • Understand the competitive market, clientele mix, seasonal periods, festivals, wedding trends and implement approaches to ensure the hotel stays ahead in the local market.
  • Represent the hotel in wedding shows and events.
  • Providing mentoring and training for junior staff.
  • Any other adhoc duties as and when assigned by the Management.
