Responsibilities:
- Ensure daily smooth functioning of the Hospital's Theatre Sterile Supplies Unit (TSSU) in receive, sort, decontaminate, inspect, pack, sterilize, storage and distribute surgical items.
- Receive, sort, decontaminate, inspect, pack, sterilize, storage and distribute surgical items.
- Ensure staff practice the standards of Loads and operates washer-disinfectors, dryers, ultrasonic washer and sterilizers.
- Perform and evaluate sterilizer test indicators.
- Perform inventory of supplies in the TSSU.
- Issue sterile supplies to all supporting units on a timely manner.
- Keep track of preventive maintenance (PM) of washer disinfectors, dryers, ultrasonic washer, and sterilizers.
- Demonstrate proper use and care of equipment.
- Report defective equipment and identified instruments that need to be repaired/ replaced.
- Liaise with OT nurses on the consignment sets required for procedures.
- Supervise and guide junior staff in their work.
- Assist in keeping instrument tracking data and system up to date.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Engineering or relevant technical qualifications.
- Possess a WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare Support (Sterilisation Services) will be an added advantage.
- 1-2 years of working experience as Instrument Technical Assistant or relevant experience in CSSD/ TSSU of Hospital will be preferred.
- Possess good interpersonal and supervisory skills.
- Good command of written English and Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Able to perform 3 rotating shifts, including Weekends & PHs for urgent matters.
