Job Purpose

The candidate will be responsible for IT project deliveries, application enhancements and operation management support. He/she will be expected to work closely with the user community, external vendors, UI/UX engineers, IT architecture team and other stakeholders in achieving the agreed project objectives. The successful candidate can expect a nurturing environment to develop deep skillsets and contribute to keeping NUS at the forefront of education innovation.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Accountable for the overall successful project delivery
• Oversee the delivery of projects to ensure that project targets are met
• Manage procurement, including amongst others, preparation and publishing tender specifications, evaluating and recommending potential solutions and/or vendors, contract management etc
• Liaise closely with business stakeholders and build good rapport
• Liaise closely with vendors to ensure successful delivery of products and/or services in accordance with contractual obligations
• Manage project team to ensure optimisation of manpower resources while maintaining a healthy team morale
• Balance fiscal efficiency while achieving project goals
• Lead or participate in continual service improvement initiatives to provide benefits and better experience for business users
• Provide post-implementation maintenance support and enhancements for new system rollouts and existing applications based on agreed SLAs
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies and guidelines such as IT security guidelines and data management policy
• Handle audit queries and ensure audit and security compliance are met
• Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders, respond to inquiries and adapt project scope to meet or exceed expectations
• Identify risks, analyse impact and develop mitigation strategies to minimise disruptions to project schedule, quality and budget
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, status reports and meeting minutes

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
• At least 10 years of experience (inclusive of minimum 3 years in technical role and minimum 7 years in project management) within IT industry as Project Manager for projects of medium to large complexity, with multiple stakeholders and resources involved
• Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies and tools
• Strong business process and analytical skills with the ability to assimilate information quickly and communicate complex requirements and issues clearly and concisely. The ability to understand the business questions that users are trying to answer is essential
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of management, users and vendors
• Must be a self-starter and able to work independently with minimum supervision
• Must be a good team player, proactive in nature, fast learner, highly organized and have a positive attitude
• Certification or experience in ITIL and/or ITSM Tools will be an added advantage
• Certification in PMP or CITPM will be an added advantage
• Certification in Product Management (eg. Certified Scrum Product Owner) and/or prior experience in Product Management will be an added advantage
• Experience in Higher Education industry is a bonus
