- Participate in and contribute to specific job training and assist other qualified surveyors
- Performs routine surveys/audits/inspections on classed vessels, platforms, or other marine structures for classification and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Perform marine products surveys and supplier auditsin accordance with CCS Rules, IMO conventions, and other applicable standards after got the qualification
- Prepares technically accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys performed. Maintains survey files in an orderly and up-to-date manner in the area of responsibility.
- Engages in contact with clients to resolve problems within areas of expertise.
- Pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge, and awareness
- Monitoring the quality, content, consistency, and continuity of work performed.
Job requirements:
- Bachelor degree or above in shipbuilding, maritime affairs, naval architecture and marine engineering
- Ability to develop a working knowledge of CCS Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions.
- Ability to read engineering plans and have a basic understanding of marine practices and vessel operations.
- Ability to perform surveys in the prescribed format.
- Knowledge of computer programs or software packages related to job responsibilities.
- Knowledge of ships' engineering systems and machinery.
- Ability to communicate, orally and in writing, pertinent information relative to assigned area of technical expertise.
- Ability to analyse problems and propose solutions.
- Responsiveness to customers and the ability to work well with others.
Language requirements:
- English and Chinese should be fluent in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
- For non- English teaching undergraduates, English should have at least CET-4 and above qualification certificates or other equivalent English proficiency certificates.
- For English teaching undergraduates, O level Higher Chinese should be at least A2, Normal Chinese A1 or other equivalent Chinese proficiency certificates.
Work experience:
At least 5 years on IACS member classification societies or marine industry, such as shipyard etc
Working hours:
Every Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 18:00, it is necessary to work overtime frequently at night, on weekends and public holidays.
