The client of ours is one of the Largest Carrier Globally and is currently looking for an Experienced Deputy General Manager/General Manager with strong technical knowledge on Duel Fuel Vessels and people management experience to be based here in Singapore. Seafaring experience is must.
Responsibilities:-
- Oversee the vessel management of the company’s fleet to ensure optimal performance, compliance with international maritime regulations, and support of business needs.
- Manage preventive maintenance, dry docks, new builds, vessel procurement, manpower planning, and fleet development.
- Lead and develop the fleet team of managers and DGMs, ensuring high maintenance standards for optimal performance and seaworthiness.
- Formulate and execute strategies for fleet digital transformation and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Oversee the review, selection, and delivery of new builds based on technical specifications, regulations, and company policies.
- Manage budgets effectively, ensure ship crews are equipped with up-to-date knowledge for vessel inspections, and attend to assigned projects.
- Attend vessels in port and anchorage, liaising with the Master/Chief Engineer on maintenance issues and survey plans, and reviewing requisitions for spare parts.
- Develop and implement the company’s repair and maintenance policies, bunkering operations procedures, and HSE policies.
- Ensure safe and high-quality dry-dockings of managed vessels and alignment of dry dock budgets across fleet groups.
- Conduct trend analysis and make decisions on various aspects of fleet management.
- Participate in cross-divisional initiatives.
- Monitor and influence the development of regulations at the IMO to safeguard the company’s interests.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, maritime operations, or a related field.
- Seafaring Chief Engineer (COC1) with at least 20 years of related managerial experience, including a minimum of 5 years in ship management or a related field.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, self-driven, resourceful team player with proven communication skills, and the ability to mentor and train the team.
- Experience in handling and managing alternative low carbon fueled ships, such as LNG or Methanol fueled ships.
- Experience with Dual Fuel (DF) vessel management, new build vessel delivery, or experience as an engineer on ships with DF propulsion systems.
- In-depth knowledge of dry docking in line with industry standards, including class, flag, and other regulatory/statutory requirements.
- Familiarity with ISM/ISPS/CSO and current maritime developments.
- Appointment will be commensurate with experience.
