As the Engineering Director, you will be responsible for leading the engineering department, playing a pivotal role in developing and delivering high-quality engineering solutions pertaining to energy storage solutions in the industry with key focus on battery energy storage solutions. Reporting directly to the Vice President, you will oversee the development of engineering solutions, ensuring compliance to relevant standards and help de-risk company on potential technical risk s while ensuring full alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
Engineering Project Management:
- Oversee the engineering department in developing, planning, executing, and delivering engineering solutions s according to schedule, budget, quality and technical requirements including compliance to industry standards.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, ensuring compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions to mitigate project delays and ensure successful project completion.
- Work with Operations team to develop testing procedures on both Factory acceptance test and Site acceptance test.
- Work with Operations team to train and develop site commissioning activities (programming of BMS).
Business Development Support:
- Support business development efforts by providing technical expertise, feasibility assessments, and engineering solutions to support the development of new projects and opportunities.
- Collaborate with the commercial team to identify customer needs, develop tailored solutions, and contribute to the development of winning proposals and pitches.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in engineering roles, with a proven track record of success in the BESS industry or a related field such as Electrical-house development or motion portfolio (frequency conversion technology or power conversion solutions) preferred.
- Strong technical background in battery energy storage systems, renewable energy, power systems, or related disciplines.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Proficiency in engineering support tools such as Autocad, BIM, Solidworks.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Results-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions on time and within budget.
