Position Overview
As a Marine Class 1 Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our vessels. You will be responsible for overseeing all engineering operations on board, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining the highest standards of operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical systems on board.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant maritime safety regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal performance of all equipment.
- Manage and train junior engineering staff.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless vessel operations.
- Participate in safety drills and training sessions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Valid Class 1 Marine Engineer Certificate of Competency.
- In-depth knowledge of marine engineering systems and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software.
- Strong understanding of maritime safety regulations and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required.
- Have local MPA manning license (preferbly)
