Responsibilities
- Design and teach labs & practice modules. (Training will be provided/ Similar ACTA)
- Mentor and guide students to work on real-world problems or industry-related issues, demonstrating their ability to apply theoretical concepts in practical settings
- Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry.
- Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research.
- Ensure safety in labs
Requirements
- Degree in Precision Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or a related field with Precision Engineering and fabrication background. Masters, PhD and/or relevant professional certifications would be advantageous.
- Deep technical specialist with 10 or more years of working experience in Precision Engineering, fabrication and CNC machining would be preferred as well as hands-on experience is a must.
- Experience in following areas is highly desirable.
- Basic machining and fabrication and able to use and teach use of lathe, milling machine and similar workshop machinery.
- Hands-on competency in CAD, CAM and CNC programming.
- CNC machining experience, 3 axis and ideally experience with 5 axis CNC machining, programming, and post processing.
- Good knowledge of high precision manufacturing processes, such as EDM, wire-cutting, Laser cutting, precision grinding, powder metallurgy, injection molding, etc.
- Strong experience with GD&T and metrology and have hands-on experience with CMM.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of industry practices.
- Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems and exploring new fabrication techniques.
- Strong supervisory skills.
- Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs.
- Possess industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage.
