Data Center Design Engineering Senior Manager
Job Responsibilities
• Collaborate with internal stake-holders to define hyperscale project design criteria and develop Basis of Design
• Technical leader managing the consultants to implement the project through schematic design, design development, to construction documents
• Technical leader managing the design build contractor to ensure the project meets the business and technical needs defined in the BOD
• Provide construction administrative support to the project manager during construction. Task include but not limited to, responding to RFI’s, issuance of technical bulletins, review submittals and shop-drawings, conducting source inspections at vendor factories and participating in the data center construction commissioning process
• Provide and analyze energy efficient solutions to minimize power losses
• Review and develop detailed scripts for change management request (CMR) activities
• Travel to data center sites for engineering studies, facility systems audits, startup testing, and full commissioning, as required
• Provide facility mission critical system review services to local data center operations teams
• Participate in equipment failure or power outage related incident Root-Cause-Analysis (RCA)
• Provide instructions to design consultants, installation contractors and validate quality of installed works
• Respond on an as-needed basis to emergencies
• As head of the engineering team, assign daily work, and continuously improve the team's work quality based on feedback
Job Qualification
• Minimum of ten (10) years professional experience in building design and construction, with data center or mission critical design, construction, operations
• As least two(2) Hyperscale date center projects developed as key role
• More than five (5) years of team management experience
• Cross-discipline knowledge of complete critical facility systems of date center,Including but not limited to knowledge of High voltage (115kV, 12kV) substation design and mission critical power distribution systems (data center topologies, especially HVDC, UPS, GEN, DRUPS, PDU, PLC based transfer controllers, and Building Management System),HVAC systems including Direct Evaporative Systems, Chilled Water Systems, Condenser Water Systems, Pump Controls, Glycool/Glycol, AHU units (DX, split, RTU, CRAC, etc.), CRAH Units, Raised Floor Systems, HOT/COLD aisle containment, and Building Management System/Controls Automation
• Familiar with data center PUE and WUE optimization solutions
• Trouble shooting and analytical skills
• Ability to provide solutions to projects under pressure
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Visio, Bluebeam software, FLOTHERM or Tileflow
• Ability to travel regionally and overseas (At least 50%)
• Strong English and Mandarin verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Mandarin is required as the role will need to coordinate with HQ in China
