The main responsibilities and tasks of this position are listed as, but not limited to the following:
- Ensure that assigned rooms are fully stocked, cleaned, and serviced to a high standard within the required timeframe.
- Changing bed linen and making beds.
- Replacing used towels and other bathroom amenities, such as shampoo and soap.
- Sweeping, mopping floors, and vacuuming carpets.
- Dusting and polishing furniture.
- Empty trash containers and ashtrays.
- Change towels, make beds and clean bathrooms.
- Update status of guestrooms on assignment sheet.
- Return and restock cleaning cart at shift end.
- Train and oversee staff under their care, providing guidance on cleaning techniques, defect reporting, and tracking their progress.
- Conduct comprehensive training sessions, both theoretical and hands-on, to orient new hires on policies, work procedures, and equipment usage and maintenance.
- Inspect rooms, as well as common areas such as stairways and corridors thoroughly, to ensure cleanliness and identify any defects or issues.
- Prepare showrooms for optimal presentation and guest satisfaction.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning products, equipment, linens, and amenities, ensuring they are used in a first-in, first-out order and maintain pantry supplies at a healthy level.
- Conduct daily checks to prevent misuse of linen and cleaning equipment and ensure proper maintenance of housekeeping trolleys.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety and sanitation policies throughout all areas of responsibility.
- Interact with guests in a polite and professional manner, providing assistance and responding to guests’ complaints whenever necessary.
- Issue cleaning supplies and equipment to staff as needed.
- Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job.
- Perform various cleaning duties in the event of staff shortages.
- Utilize the internal system to monitor tasks, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- To attend any meetings requested or training courses where necessary.
- To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Management.
