The laboratory, led by Assoc Prof Tan Meng How, works on developing and applying cutting edge biotechnologies, including high throughput next generation (NGS) sequencing and CRISPR-Cas, to read, write, and decipher genomes and transcriptomes in living cells. The Research Fellow will be involved in efforts to develop and apply new tools and methodologies to push the boundaries of genomics and RNA biology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and apply new genomic technologies
- Profile the epitranscriptome using NGS technologies
- Perform experiments to interrogate RNA functions and regulation
- Analyze data and prepare reports and presentations
- Write and publish journal papers
- Guide graduate and undergraduate students
Job Requirements:
- A PhD degree from a reputable university in science or engineering
- Strong research experience in biomedical sciences, bioengineering, biotechnology, or a related discipline (such as genomics, genetics, computational biology, cell biology, molecular biology, synthetic biology etc.)
- Outstanding publication track record, preferably with a first-author paper in a high-impact journal
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team
