- Based on strong technological knowhow identify technology trends, set technology strategy and support technology decisions.
- Formulate technology strategy and architecture roadmap in line with company’s long-term business strategy.
- Discover/develop and implement new technologies (both evolutionary and revolutionary) as extensions of company’s core technology that would yield competitive advantage.
- Direct technology scanning efforts to position company at the leading edge of materials technology relevant to our business.
- Provide leadership to Advanced Technology Research Centre.
- Identify companies developing technologies of interest and support business development activities.
- Develop, administer, monitor, and manage the company’s technology budget and intellectual property.
- Must be expert in PVD Coating and Vacuum Coating Equipment technology.
Requirements;
- PhD/Master in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related field with at least 15 years of work experience.
- At least 15 years of hands-on domain experience in PVD Coating and Vacuum Coating Equipment
- Understanding / handling of IP related topics
- Prior technical role and experience within engineering and technology companies with growing duties and responsibilities
- Proven track record in innovation and technology strategy
- Experience in a fast-paced, high growth deep technology environment
- Strong leadership qualities; manage and scale team, recruit and retain top talent, build consensus and rally members to achieve goals
- Strong international experience
- Management of cross-functional and regional teams
- Results oriented, hands-on, and collaborative style; must be comfortable working in an environment where ideas are shared and challenged
