Description
This role is for a Technical Superintendent responsible for the technical management and maintenance of vessels. The candidate must have a Certificate of Competency (COC) and experience in managing ships.
Responsibilities
- Ensure vessels meet the standards of Classification Societies, Flag States, Port States, Oil Majors, and relevant state regulations.
- Execute and ensure compliance with the planned maintenance system.
- Approve and monitor repairs, and prepare purchase and work orders.
- Prepare dry-docking and repair specifications and monitor progress.
- Maintain the allocated vessel budget and meet operational standards required by Owners.
- Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and prepare reports. Attend inspections by Classification Societies, Flag States, Port States, Underwriters, and Oil Majors.
- Liaise with Terminal Representatives, Charterers, Agents, Operators, and Fujairah Freezone Officials.
- Serve as the first point of contact for vessel matters at the UAE branch office.
- Assist the Crew Department in coordinating crew matters.
Requirements
- COC Class 1 or 2 holders with sailing experience on product tankers.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience ashore as a Technical Superintendent in tanker companies.
- Experience in handling foreign-going vessels.
- Willingness to travel abroad to United Arab Emirates (UAE) on a rotational basis.
- Familiarity with Oil Majors vettings and inspection requirements.
- Analytical, independent, results-oriented, resourceful, and proactive.
