Job Overview:
Part of CFS’s Technology and Transformation team, the role holder is integral to CFS transformation efforts in working on key initiatives to drive digitisation and data analytic capabilities aligned with CFS’s business growth.
As CFS embarks on its digitation effort, the Product owner is a key contributor to drive and support CFS’s transformation initiatives such as Donor Portal and Data Analytics which are strategic outcomes aligned to CFS multiyear transformation roadmap.
The role holder will act as Digital product owner of CFS Donor Portal and provides hands-on technical and functional input to design, maintenance, build, integration and testing of the Donor Portal platform by partnering with CFS stakeholders, vendors. Post system launch, the Digital Product Owner will work with key internal stakeholders in driving communication, target operating model and training to increase adoption to new system features as well as identify/deliver continuous enhancements to the systems/platforms.
The role holder will also act as a Data Product Owner who, with good data science, project management, and business analysis skills, helps to drive the data analytic capabilities building within CFS including developing a strategy for CFS and identify feasible product/tools that are required as part of CFS data analytics transformation. This will also subsequently include the execution phase of the transformation roadmap.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Digital Product Owner
- Lead / support CFS key initiatives to transform Donors and Grantees experiences, increase overall productivity of the CFS business process /operations as well as to create a culture of continuous improvement
- Support CFS Management (HoDs) team to transform Donors and Grantees experiences, and overall productivity of the CFS operations as well as to create a culture of continuous improvement.
- Coordinate CFS internal stakeholders (PE, CAP, C&G and Business Operations) to understand the challenges and business requirements.
- Propose and internally implement system enhancements and process changes in meet the needs of stakeholders.
- Perform RFI and maintain account relationship with selected Vendors to support business needs. Negotiate contract terms and costs with Vendors.
- Translating delivery requirements from stakeholders into technical document for to external Vendor. Proof read/edit technical documentation, UAT test solution provided externally.
- Educate and answer queries of front-end users in Organisation on data system function and enhancements possibilities. Support key change initiatives and their subsequent implementations.
- Interface with Stakeholders and vendors on issues resolutions and organisation improvements.
- Conduct training to relevant staff post system implementations and ensure effective communication / bedding of changes to the organisation. Work closely with Marketing team, across departments to generate excitement and support for the continuous improvements and mindset change.
Data Product Owner
- Incorporate greater automation to BAU reporting/operation processes:
- Data ingestion from donors and grant receivers
- Report generation (including but not limited to new funds established, payout rates, grant disbursement, donation breakdown)
- Sanity checks on data for outliers to maintain accountability.
- Support internal data sanitisation effort and reconciliation on historical data
- Implement system solutioning to ensure clean data ingestion and meaningful reports generation going forward. Create new ways to meaningfully show trends/patterns using existing data and present findings to upper management.
- Prepare reports for Management team with data insights on trends, pattern and prediction using relevant dataset for:
- Annual Report
- Board and Sub-Committee update report.
- Departmental quarterly report
- Research on products, data analytic strategy
- Identify gap around the existing data and level of digitisation
- Create new ways to meaningfully show trends/patterns using existing data
- Perform analysis to assess the quality and meaning of data.
- Prepare reports for Management team with data insights on trends, pattern and prediction using relevant dataset.
- Work with vendors, skill-based volunteers to implement data analytic solution/system to enhance CFS data analytic capabilities – giving impact, understanding donors as philanthropists, organising reports from charities for research-based reports where required

Acquired Knowledge:
- Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
- Requires 3 to 5 years of experience in transformation project
- Experience in being part of change / transformation work in organisations
- Good business analytical skills, bridging between business and development teams.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision as well as in a team.
- Experience in the nonprofit sector is highly valued
