Responsibilities:
- Managing the server build and work on Server Provisioning
- Build AIX VIO server and client, Solaris Control Domain and guest LDOM
- Operation support for AIX and Solaris
- To perform OS hardening by standard policy
- Perform in place upgrade for Solaris and AIX
- Communicate server build status with all relevant stakeholders.
- On occasion, assist on Level 1,2,3 Server support team.
- Work with Server support and Engineering teams on build problems and provisioning infrastructure issues.
- Perform thorough QA checks on newly built servers and get them ready for handover.
Requirements:
- Minimum 6+ years of experience on Unix, Linux (Redhat), Chef cookbook and Windows server
- Experience on Technologies such as Cloud, Storage and Networking.
- Handson experience in IBM AIX server, Oracle Solaris, HACMP Cluster, Solaris Cluster, VIOS, Solaris Virtualization, Unix scripts and Knowledge on HA clustering and VMware
- Server Build and project experience will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge on server automation like Ansible and Pytho and Strong Knowledge and experience in RedHat Clustering and Oracle Solaris Clustering and scripting tools/language, such as Perl, Ruby and AWK
- Administration and troubleshooting of Unix Servers (Preferably Solaris, Linux)
- Able to install Unix servers from scratch and has good troubleshooting skills on Solaris Systems.
- Performance monitoring (OS, CPU, Memory, Network and Disk)
- Detect, diagnose, report, and resolve Unix/Linux Server related hardware and OS problems.
- Ensure all Unix and Linux operating systems are patched to the latest appropriate releases.
- Advanced level of Administration of Solaris/Linux server with cluster and RBAC knowledge
- Understanding of RAID, pros and cons of various RAID levels and decision making on the same in a given situation
- Knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP and experience and knowledge with installing and implementing Sun hardware, Solaris Zones, Ldoms and upgrade/migration related tasks and Sun/LINUX/VCS cluster configuration, administration and troubleshooting
- Experience with automation/configuration management using Puppet and understanding of code and script (PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby).
- Hands-on knowledge on PowerShell / Unix / Linux Shell Scripting
- Experience in install, configure and troubleshoot of AIX/Linux, WebLogic, iPlanet, Jboss based environments
- Experience in automation and continuous Integration and application deployment process and tools such as Jenkins, Aldon LMe
- Having hands on experience in UNIX shell scripting & groovy, networking knowledge, knowledge in IBM MQ, connect direct, ftp/sftp, Oracle DB, administration and perforance testing tools is a plus.
- Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support when required
- Certification - Solaris and Linux Certification is plus
