Responsibilities:
· Taking a role in creative workshops, generating and visualizing your own ideas and those of the team around you
· Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications using CAD software.
· Prototype and test new designs, iterating based on feedback and test results.
· Work closely with sales and production teams to ensure product designs meet customer needs and company objectives.
· Transfer of designs to manufacture through liaison with external suppliers.
· Manage the end-to-end development of automated machines, including planning, design, testing, and implementation.
· Spending time at automation partners, manufacturing sites, and acting as the liaison between the company, the design team and the manufacturer to ensure realization of products.
· Troubleshooting automation and manufacturing problems
· Applying your knowledge of automation to ensure company goals and objectives are met.
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in automation, industrial design, or mechanics tertiary program
· Minimum 3 years relevant working experience in Automation and product design
· Strong in computer aided design, or CAD. (Autodesk Inventor)
· Able to manage existing Automation systems and improvements for new systems
· Able to demonstrate innovative past product designs through a portfolio or simple case studies
· Comfortable in structural analysis, or FEA
· Familiar with design for manufacture, or DFM
Working Environment:
· This position may require occasional travel to vendor sites and customer (local and overseas).
· The role involves working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and equipment.
