Responsibilities
- Familiarize with the Scope of Work, monitor changes to the Scope of Work, and identify change notifications to the Project Facilities Lead.
- Gather/analyze the available information and propose and/or review the documents of the Project during the development of the engineering and execution phases
- Prepare / Review of Project documents like calculations, specifications, philosophies, datasheets and drawings to ensure compliance with specification and functional integrity.
- Perform single discipline checking of discipline documents / deliverables for the Project.
- Coordinate/ interact with the other facilities disciplines of the team when selecting and/or reviewing the development of engineering, as per the RACI Matrix.
- Prepare and submit comments, technical observations, design specifications, and where necessary; based on good industry practices, make recommendations supported by evidence, to documents issued by Contractors, Subcontractors, Vendors, and Subvendors
- Perform and prepare calculation, analyses and reports, as required
- Evaluate and support in the selection of alternative designs and facilities, which can provide cost-effective solutions
- Provide support to the Project Facilities Lead, in decision making during the bidding process for materials, equipment, and services, as required
- Attend Project meetings & workshops as required
- Attend Contractor, Subcontractor, Vendor, and Subvendor visits, as required
- To ensure Quality Control throughout the discipline, works with the Quality Management System, and participate in regular quality audits.
- Follow all applicable procedures and work instructions.
- Keep continual improvement as a goal and apply Lessons Learnt on the past projects for better performance.
Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of specific experience as a piping engineer in upstream oil and gas project,.
- Thorough knowledge of pipework design and inspection codes of practice.
- Exposure to multidiscipline engineering in Oil and Gas Projects, and Rules and Regulations for the Petroleum industry, during FEED and Detailed Design phases of projects, preferably for floating and SURF (Subsea, Umbilical, Riser, Flowlines) facilities
- Exposure to piping activities, as well as multidiscipline activities, during the execution phases (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, Commissioning (EPCIC)) of projects, preferably for floating and SURF facilities
- Thorough understanding of industry standards.
- Experience working in life extension process for offshore assets.
- Experience in offshore projects, preferably floating and SURF facilities,
- Experience in FEED and Detailed Design phases,
- Experience in execution & completion phases of projects; including pre-commissioning and commissioning
- An understanding of NDT techniques, and service application of NDT.
- An understanding within the integrity related disciplines, covering inspection and corrosion control and mitigation within the upstream oil/gas production industry, chemical treatment, protective coatings, cathodic protection, sour service material selection, etc.
- A good knowledge of repair budgeting activities related to brownfield floating facility scopes.
- Knowledge of related standards and regulatory requirements, preferably Mexico and/ or GoM.
- Knowledge and experience of oil and gas industry regulatory regulations for piping engineering activities in offshore facilities in Mexico will be of value
- Knowledge of specific standards (norms and regulations) like Safety of Live at Sea (SOLAS) that applies for FPSOs will be of value.
