Product Lifecycle Manager:
Responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of products that integrate hardware and software components for the vanadium redox flow batteries. Your role will involve leading cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development and production. Key responsibilities include:
- Drive the NPI (New Product Introduction) program for various products from concept planning to mass production, ensuring timely and efficient development. Oversee the execution from design release through to full-scale production and market launch
- Steer engineering change request for ongoing mass production units, working closely with design, procurement & production teams to improve quality and performance while reducing costs.
- Develop a deep understanding of product features, components, and the bill of materials (BOM)
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of product manuals, installation guides, BOMs, and other relevant documentation.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives and meetings to meet product cost targets without compromising on quality
- Establish and manage the Project Management Office for product projects, ensuring alignment of projects with organizational objectives, standards, and best practices.
- Develop and implement project management methodologies, tools, and governance frameworks to facilitate efficient project delivery and resource utilization. Basic understanding of waterfall and agile methodologies will be good to have - not a mandatory requirement.
UL Testing and Certification is one of the key responsibilities of the product lifecycle manager,
- Lead UL testing and certification processes, working closely with testing laboratories and regulatory bodies to ensure product compliance and certification.
- Manage the documentation and submission process for UL testing and certification to meet top quality standard globally.
- Ensure products meet necessary regulations and standards for various markets, such as JIS in Japan, CE in Europe, and standards like UL 1973 and IEC 62932 series.
- Prepare detailed product status reports for management review, providing clear visualizations of progress.
- Manage certification processes for electrical systems and components, tank certifications, and other necessary certifications.
Quality Management Lead:
- Oversee the development and implementation of quality management systems, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct quality audits, inspections, and assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality requirements.
- Incoming Goods Quality Assurance: Develop and implement rigorous quality control procedures for incoming raw materials and components to ensure they meet the required standards before entering the production process.
- In-Process Quality Control: Oversee quality control processes during manufacturing, including regular inspections, testing, and monitoring to ensure products meet the required specifications and standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for quality improvement within the production process and implement corrective actions and preventive measures to enhance overall product quality.
- Reliability Studies: Conduct reliability studies including Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) for components to ensure product reliability and durability.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Experience with product lifecycle management & quality management in a manufacturing context.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to drive change and implement process improvements.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Initiative: Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal direction.
- Industry Experience: Demonstrated success in product lifecycle management roles, preferably in fields such as battery energy storage systems, fuel cells, or large-scale industrial systems integration.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of interoperability between hardware and software, including mechanical designs, electrical systems, schematics, SLD, and BMS (battery management systems).
- Project Management: Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and execute in a fast-paced environment with a strong ownership mentality.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with standards and certification requirements for deploying similar products/systems internationally.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation, facilitation, and consensus-building abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of quality management standards, project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, Agile), and UL testing requirements, IEC, ISO, and other relevant certifications.
- Ability to evaluate and ensure compliance with country-specific regulations on electrical systems and components.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills, with the ability to drive change and implement process improvements.
- Certifications in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, ASQ) are highly desirable.
