Job Responsibilities:
The Training Manager’s functions include:
- Responsible for developing and implementing the crew training methodology, competency assessment, and infrastructure across the fleet
- Development and improvement of in-house training materials and position-based competence training
- Conduct training and coaching onboard the vessel for crew and company personnel where appropriate for Ops, Tech, Crewing, and HSEQ in compliance with charterer’s and/or company requirements
- Conduct training on behalf of clients, project-based safety, or other training requirements as required
- Management, administration, development, and implementation of Videotel and its assessment platform across the fleet and in the company
- Responsible for the ECDIS type-specific training for the different ECDIS units across the fleet
- Management of ECDIS, including the updates and software maintenance
- Implementation and monitoring of ship handling programme across the fleet
- Development, implementation, and leading of the company safety culture programme
- Responsible for conducting and reviewing the organisations safety climate, cross analysing the findings, and acting on the results to further develop the safety culture
- Publishing quarterly training reports and statistics, including training tables
- Conducting annual review and updating of all developed training materials
- Compilation, review, and reporting of all training records, including their assessments
Requirement:
- Previous sailing experience as Chief Officer
- Valid Certificate of Competancy Class 1 or Class 2
- SSO certification
- Valid STCW certification
- Train the Trainer for the maritime Industry certification
